Job summary

Burlington Police Department seeks an Executive Manager to serve as a civilian member of the command staff, delivering executive-level project management, strategic leadership, and fiscal oversight in support of the Chief of Police.

You will lead planning, coordination, and execution of department-wide initiatives to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and community service, while supervising administrative and financial staff and coordinating with City leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with two years’ experience preferred; or an Associate’s degree with three years’ experience; or a high school diploma with five years’ experience in an office environment as an Executive Administrator.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality with extremely sensitive material.
• Demonstrated knowledge of departmental policies, procedures and legal requirements preferred.
• Ability to manage and implement police administration projects of moderate complexity.
• Ability to issue accurate and concise statements in written and oral form to the press and the public.

Responsibilities

• Lead department strategic planning with the Chief of Police and Command Staff.
• Oversee budget development and financial management for the department.
• Supervise Purchasing & Accounts Payable Specialist, Fire/Police Accountant, Redaction Specialist, Administrative Assistant to Command Staff, and Police Receptionist.
• Coordinate with City officials and other departments on strategic goals.
• Develop, maintain, analyze, report and solve a variety of BPD information including personnel and financial data.
