Rugged Coatings in Pinson, AL is seeking a Plant Buyer to manage inbound raw materials and production supplies at our Birmingham-area facility.

You will develop inventory tracking, work with suppliers, and use MRP/ERP tools to keep material flow aligned with production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or related field preferred but not required.
• Experience in a purchasing or procurement role in manufacturing or supply chain.
• Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and scheduling inbound raw materials and other goods for production.
• Develop inventory tracking processes for consumables not captured in ERP.
• Monitor inventory levels using MRP/ERP tools and determine purchase requirements.
• Maintain supplier relationships and manage performance to ensure reliability and quality.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to reduce lead times and improve procurement processes.
• Understand production processes to align purchasing with manufacturing needs.
