Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Planning & Operations in Inflammation Research. You will partner with the VP Research and TA Leadership to translate strategy into priorities, plans, and outcomes, while driving governance, budgeting, and cross-functional execution across the TA.

This role blends scientific insight with strategic leadership to accelerate transformative medicines for patients. You will lead portfolio governance, KPI development, and executive communications,

Qualifications

• Doctorate or equivalent with 2+ years biotech/pharma PM/ops experience
• Masters with 4+ years biotech/pharma PM/ops experience
• Bachelors with 6+ years biotech/pharma PM/ops experience
• Associates with 10+ years biotech/pharma PM/ops experience
• High school diploma or equivalent with 12+ years biotech/pharma PM/ops experience
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, governance, and portfolio management in an R&D org.
• Scientific credibility and ability to synthesize complex scientific, operational, and business info.
• Executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders and teams.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including exec presentations.

Responsibilities

• Translate TA strategy into measurable goals, action plans, milestones, and KPIs.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for TA strategy and KPIs.
• Develop portfolio governance processes, dashboards, and reporting tools.
• Coordinate governance activities and decision forums across TA leadership.
• Partner with leaders to surface risks, opportunities, and resource needs.
• Lead business operations, budgeting, headcount planning, and scenario analyses.
• Develop executive-level presentations and governance materials.
• Communicate priorities, progress, risks, and actions across the org.
