Strategic Planning Manager - Manufacturing Operations

Large manufacturing company in Central Indiana is seeking a Strategy Manager to develop and support business strategy across Manufacturing Operations, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and other areas of the company.

This role may be a strong fit for someone who has Manufacturing Experience (such as former Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Business Unit Manager, or other experienced manufacturing leader) who has experience developing Strategy (business strategy, operational strategy, and improvement initiatives).

Responsibilities

• Develop and support business strategy across Manufacturing Operations, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and other areas of the company.
• Work with company leadership to identify business areas for strategic improvements, evaluate opportunities, develop practical strategies and follow through implementation.
• Create strategic plans in various areas (such as financial performance, manufacturing costs, manufacturing productivity, capacity, organizational elements such as HR strategy, and business processes).
• Develop strategic plans, business cases, and recommendations for operational and organizational changes.
• Work with Key constituents within functional leaders (Supervisors, Plant Managers, Operations leaders, Finance, HR, Purchasing and other leaders ) to understand key issues and develop strategic plans for improvements.
• Create presentations and communicate strategy, analysis, and recommendations to Supervisors, Plant Managers, functional leaders, and senior management.
• Support strategic planning projects involving cost reduction, operational improvement, organizational changes, capacity, productivity, and other company priorities.
• Track strategic initiatives and results.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in strategic planning in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Someone who has done strategic planning in Manufacturing Operations (as plant manager or operations manager or business unit manager or project manager with experience in developing strategy and being able to present the strategy as well as track its implementation on a hands-on basis to measure results (success)).
• 7 or more years experience developing business strategy, manufacturing strategy, operational strategy, or strategic improvement plans.
• Fundamental Understanding of Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and the other functions involved in running a manufacturing business.
• Fundamental understanding of budgets, manufacturing costs, capital projects, and financial performance.
• Experience developing presentations and communicating strategy and recommendations to different levels of an organization (ranging from supervisors, plant leadership and executives).
• Solid communications, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Bachelors Degree in Business or Equivalent.
