Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Corrections seeks an Associate Director of Planning and Analysis to lead data analytics, project management, grant development and administration, research, quality assurance, and strategic initiatives for the department.

The role oversees performance measures, data analysis, and program evaluation, and serves as the business owner for the Offender Management System (OMS). Based in Pierre, Sioux Falls, or Rapid City, SD, it requires collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, criminal justice, business or related field, plus at least three years of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading projects involving multiple teams and using data to inform decisions.
• Experience writing grants and managing federal, state, or private grants.
• Experience in corrections, criminal justice, government, or public administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for data analytics, project management, grant development and administration, research, quality assurance, and strategic initiatives.
• Oversee performance measures, data analysis, reporting, and program evaluation.
• Serve as business owner for the Offender Management System (OMS) ensuring data quality and system support.
• Develop grant opportunities and oversee awarded grants to ensure compliance and goals.
• Coordinate staff and resources across department initiatives.
