Job summary

South Dakota Department of Corrections seeks a full‑time corrections role at the Rapid City facility. You will maintain daily contact with offenders, organize daily living activities, and facilitate program options to promote behavior change and successful reintegration.

The position requires two years of corrections experience with offender management concepts and a blend of education in criminal justice or related fields. Requires strong documentation and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with hard-to-serve high-needs clients in corrections/human services.
• Corrections experience with offender classification, disciplinary system, grievance process, housing assignments and role modeling pro-social behaviors.
• Combination of education and experience equal to two years.

Responsibilities

• Organizes schedules, coordinates activities, and manages events for an assigned housing unit.
• Assists offenders with individual/family problems and adjustment to help change behavior.
• Coordinates and manages unit offender programs to ensure policy compliance.
