Job summary

Volvo Group in the United States is seeking a materials planner to optimize spare parts availability and coordinate with engineering to avoid line stoppages. You will manage daily supplier interactions, escalation of risks, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Trucks Technology & Industrial division.

The role offers a base annual pay of $72,241 with bonus eligibility where applicable, plus a comprehensive benefits package and global career growth opportunities in a leading transport

Qualifications

  • Four year degree or five years related experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan daily work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills and analytical mindset.
  • Customer focus and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and act on alarms from GILM daily.
  • Investigate spare parts availability and substitutions with engineering to avoid line impact.
  • Notify scheduling of potential shortages affecting production.
  • Escalate deviations and risks to the supervisor as needed.
  • Escalate crises with global risk suppliers.
  • Coordinate with supplier on inventory inaccuracies daily.
  • Collaborate on replenishment with supplier quality plant engineer daily.
  • Communicate with DCN on phase-in/phase-out parts monthly.
  • Decide on XTR within a defined dollar figure daily.
  • Inform packaging engineering of MOQ deviations and update systems as needed.
  • Communicate with PL Transport Operations on ETA and carrier issues daily.
  • Work with suppliers via Teams to secure SDP and root-cause actions weekly.
  • Proactively discuss logistic requirements and delivery manuals with suppliers daily.
  • Collaborate with AP to resolve supplier payment issues weekly.
  • Perform RCA on production disturbances weekly.
  • Answer supplier questions on EDI/forecast with supervisor/IT support weekly.
  • Ensure correct transport time parameters in GILM and update supervisor monthly.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities monthly.
  • Provide accurate info in Emergency routine tool on SRM request ad hoc.
  • Update legacy with weekly orders, order lines, and POs daily.
