Job summary

ERMCO in Dyersburg, TN is seeking a Planner/Buyer to manage the full procurement cycle for production needs, reviewing requisitions and MRP data to ensure material availability and optimal inventory levels.

The role negotiates with suppliers, issues POs and RFQs, develops inventory plans, and collaborates with Quality and Operations to resolve issues, aiming to support continuity and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and 5+ years in purchasing/procurement or related field.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems to support planning, procurement, and inventory control.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
• Ability to analyze data, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve supplier invoices and expedite deliveries to meet production needs.
• Review production schedules and MRP reports to ensure material availability.
• Source components, obtain pricing, lead times, and supplier quotes.
• Prepare POs, RFQs, and bid requests in accordance with policy.
• Develop inventory plans to support production and working capital goals.
• Negotiate terms within budget and authorization limits.
• Maintain procurement records and monitor supplier performance.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Monitor KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement in supply chain.
