Job summary

Hamilton Families is seeking a Director of Strategic Philanthropy in San Francisco to lead fundraising, donor engagement, and strategic partnerships. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will pilot major gifts, institutional giving, and donor stewardship while guiding a growing Development Team.

The role requires at least 5 years in fundraising, deep Bay Area philanthropic knowledge, and a collaborative leadership approach to expand impact and support families experiencing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in fundraising or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive fundraising experience, including staff supervision.
• Experience securing five- and six-figure gifts from individuals, foundations, or corporations.
• Knowledge of the Bay Area philanthropic landscape.
• Ability to lead with inclusion and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual fundraising, engagement, and communications strategies with the Chief Development Officer.
• Lead major gifts, institutional giving, campaigns, events, and donor stewardship.
• Supervise the Development Team and oversee the volunteer engagement program.
• Manage donor information systems, including Salesforce, with data governance and reporting.
• Cultivate and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects.
• Collaborate with Communications on external fundraising campaigns and activities.
• Work with board members and leadership to grow philanthropic giving.
