Job summary

Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation in Washtenaw County, Michigan, seeks a Philanthropic Advisor to lead planned giving and deepen relationships with professional advisors. You will guide philanthropic strategy and work with donors to maximize impact, while supervising the Donor Engagement Coordinator to enhance donor cultivation and stewardship.

The role requires hands-on fundraising experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of modern development and communications tools (CRM, databases, spreadsheets, online research services).
• At least three years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Experience in new business development of high-net-worth individuals preferred.
• Comfort speaking to individuals and groups of all sizes.
• Familiarity with Washtenaw County issues, nonprofits, donors, and communities preferred.
• Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead planned giving strategies and strengthen relationships with professional advisors (financial planners, attorneys, CPAs).
• Advance philanthropic strategy, planning, and execution aligned with Foundation goals.
• Supervise the Donor Engagement Coordinator to support donor cultivation and stewardship.
