Job summary

The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan seeks a Director of Gift Planning & Professional Advisor Relations in Donor Services to lead the strategic growth of its planned giving program and to liaison with a network of attorneys, financial planners, accountants and wealth managers. You will steward donors through advisors and craft complex gift solutions in a collaborative regional setting.

With 7–10 years in gift or estate planning, you will drive education, outreach, and stewardship,

Qualifications

7–10 years of experience in gift planning or financial services with nonprofit organizations
Strong knowledge of bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder and lead trusts, and retirement asset gifts
CAP/CFP credential or similar is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

Lead growth of the Foundation's planned giving program and act as expert on bequests and related vehicles
Expand relationships with professional advisors and provide real-life giving examples
Lead engagement of the Legal Financial Network meetings
Develop and deliver advisor trainings on planned and legacy giving strategies
Provide personalized service to advisors and donors referred by advisors
Maintain accurate CRM records and track advisor engagement and outcomes
Coordinate CAP study group with local roundtable, and collaborate with staff across Donor Services
