Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or accounting or related field.
• 7+ years in payroll administration with multi-entity, multistate responsibilities.
• Experience supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees payroll operations for Auburn University, Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM), and other campuses and business operations in Alabama and out-of-state to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of employee compensation.
• Provides operational leadership for payroll administration, establishes priorities and calendars, and develops policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance.
• Oversees configuration, maintenance, security, and integrity of payroll data within ERP systems and HRIS, ensuring accurate tax withholdings and benefit contributions.
• Monitors changes in federal, state, and municipal payroll laws and implements necessary process and system changes.
• Develops and leads a high-performing payroll team, partnering with HR, Finance, IT, and vendors to resolve complex issues.
