Job summary

Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to manage payroll operations, audits, and tax processing, while coordinating with HR and Total Rewards. You will ensure accurate data entry, compliance with laws, and timely payroll submissions.

The role includes overseeing benefits administration, system administration with Workday HCM, and ongoing process improvements with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in human resources, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of payroll administration experience.
• 1+ year(s) HR system administration with Workday HCM modules preferred.
• CPP or ADP experience strongly preferred; knowledge of employment laws required.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Leads the auditing of payroll and associated tasks for each pay period.
• Submits payroll for final processing and ensures accuracy and timely processing.
• Serves as liaison for immigration matters and assists in reporting across Total Rewards.
• Provides backup in payroll processing, new hires, changes, terminations; GL reconciliation and balancing.
• Ensures payroll taxes are processed accurately and timely.
