Job summary

Storm2 is seeking a hands-on Commercial Counsel in San Francisco with a hybrid preference. You will serve as the legal partner for commercial deals, helping the business move quickly while managing risk and building a scalable legal function.

The role involves drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, advising on risk across payments products and partnerships, and collaborating with Product, Sales, and Underwriting teams to accelerate deal execution.

Qualifications

• Must hold a law degree and be admitted to practise.
• Experience with commercial contracting in payments/fintech/financial services.
• Strong negotiation and redlining of complex agreements.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent communication with non-legal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and redline commercial agreements with customers, partners and vendors.
• Advise the business on legal risk across payments products and partnerships.
• Partner with Product, Sales and Underwriting teams to support deal execution.
• Build templates, playbooks and processes that speed up contracting.
• Give clear, practical legal guidance to non-legal stakeholders.
