Job summary

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) is hiring an Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships & Special Events to lead event strategy, planning and execution on signature initiatives that advance visibility and fundraising. You will collaborate with senior leadership to align events with organizational priorities.

You will oversee budgets, vendor negotiations, partnerships, and volunteer coordination, while driving donor stewardship and post-event reporting across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, nonprofit management or related field.
• Five to seven years of experience with event management, marketing and corporate sponsorships required.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills with ability to manage multiple events and deadlines.
• Commitment to the mission and community served by the agency in Boston.
• Experience producing events in complex venues, including permits, insurance, accessibility and safety requirements.
• Experience building relationships with sponsors and partners at four- and five-figure levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategic development of events and create a yearly calendar in collaboration with leadership.
• Manage logistics, vendor negotiations, on-site execution and post-event reporting for all events.
• Develop and manage event budgets and monitor expenses.
• Create engagement strategies and build relationships with supporters, donors, corporate partners and volunteers.
• Oversee registration, ticketing, attendance tracking and post-event feedback processes.
• Support fundraising by soliciting in-kind gifts and managing sponsorships.
