Job summary

Central Michigan University seeks an Associate Director of Business & Community Outreach to manage a portfolio of partners and source new ones for educational advancement and workforce development in Southeast Michigan. Based at CMU’s Troy, MI site, you will link external partners with CMU Online, guiding all aspects of partnerships from start to ongoing support.

You will foster strategic relationships, travel regionally, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to realize measurable outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years of relevant experience in business development, sales, relationship building, education, HR/training or related field.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including comfort presenting.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to form partnerships for educational and professional learning opportunities for adult learners.
• Inform stakeholders of partnership status, opportunities for expansion, and outcomes of agreements to foster trust.
• Develop strategic partnerships aligned with CMU Online’s mission and goals to drive measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate across teams to implement partner agreements and programming with tangible impact.
• Promote educational pathways and workforce development for governmental, business, and community organizations.
• Assist in preparing an annual regional outreach plan reflecting local education and workforce needs.
• Work with teams to align outreach with CMU Online’s strategic objectives.
• Travel regionally as needed to meet clients and partners.
