Job summary

Mercer, based in Boston, seeks a strategic partner reporting to the Global COO to drive operational excellence in investment solutions. The hybrid role requires developing tools, dashboards, and scalable processes while mentoring an entry-level analyst and overseeing resource contracting and cost tracking.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in investment management, strong financial analytics, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office. A Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting/Business is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Investment Management, with progressive increase in responsibilities.
• Prior financial analysis experience.
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field of study preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, clear and effective communication; ability to multi-task.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• General experience with client relationship management systems, databases and MS Smart Sheets is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Global COO to implement strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain tools and dashboards to track goals, onboarding new clients, and costs.
• Oversee and mentor an entry-level analyst.
• Coordinate hiring contracts: Purchase Orders and cost tracking.
• Prepare materials for executive meetings including board presentations and strategic plans.
• Conduct financial analysis and operational research to inform decisions.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to execute operational plans.
• Monitor progress of strategic initiatives and report results to the COO and exec team.
• Identify inefficiencies and develop solutions to optimize processes.
• Demonstrate strong project management, juggling multiple complex projects.
• Oversee development and implementation of operational policies and best practices.
