Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with planning, directing, organizing, and coordinating programs related to the operations of the Department.
• Provide oversight of various divisions (Emergency Management, EMS, Animal Services, 911 Communications, Radio Repair, Administrative and Fiscal) as directed by the Director.
• Coordinate with Human Resources on personnel needs and development.
• Recommend and implement system improvements for the Department.
• Review operations, establish metrics, and adjust operations to meet standards.
• Ensure annual proficiency training per approved training plans and update plans as needed.
• Supervise staff, counsel employees, and enforce policies.
• Coordinate programs with allied agencies; report issues and take corrective action.
• Develop and maintain department plans for emergency response and operational changes.
• Analyze performance data and prepare management reports to identify improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local policies and act as liaison with agencies.
• Provide budget recommendations and participate in policy development.
• Engage in professional development activities.
