Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal seeks an Associate in Operations & Manufacturing to join the Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) team. You will lead large client engagements with private equity leadership to identify and implement operational improvements across portfolio companies.

The role requires hands-on manufacturing and distribution expertise, focused on cost optimization, transformation, and delivering measurable results. Open to U.S. locations, including Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 3 years specializing in manufacturing or distribution functions.
• Deep functional expertise in at least one of the following: supply chain operations, manufacturing operations, lean, Six Sigma, TOC, or value engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of target’s manufacturing and distribution operations including organization design, capacity, efficiency, planning and warehousing.
• Evaluate the maintainability and operability of production facilities.
• Review current and historical data to assess efficiency and capacity, including equipment conditions and maintenance logs.
• Provide shop-floor insights by engaging with employees and customers and reviewing all available data.
