Job summary

Foundation Building Materials (FBM) seeks an Operations Manager to lead daily branch operations with a focus on safety, service, and results.

You’ll manage warehousing, transportation, and customer service, drive process improvements, and mentor a frontline team in a fast-paced environment.

This hands-on leadership role offers growth within a national distributor of construction materials.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience.
• Knowledge of construction materials and product distribution
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate overall operations to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Plan, develop, and implement operational policies across warehousing, transportation, and customer service
• Design and manage dispatch systems to improve logistics and workflow
• Implement operational changes and continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor and manage operating budgets for warehouse, manufacturing, and transportation functions
• Ensure trucking operations comply with DOT regulations
• Oversee warehouse conditions, equipment, and storage utilization
• Coordinate with purchasing and receiving teams for timely product arrivals
• Maintain communication with vendors regarding missing materials, backorders, and delivery challenges
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors
• Represent the company professionally in all interactions
• Research and implement technologies to enhance operational efficiency
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business information
