Job summary

SSA Careers is seeking a Part-time Operations Labor Manager to direct and coordinate union labor, equipment, and resources across multiple terminals in South Carolina. You will exercise independent judgment and manage labor personnel and operations policies while upholding safety, security, and productivity standards.

You will interpret CBAs, coordinate shift staffing, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; management experience considered.
• 3 years managing union labor in a comparable environment preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain TWIC card.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of terminal operations and union dispatching rules.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Familiarity with computerized terminal operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct hiring, assignment, evaluation, and discipline of labor personnel per policy and collective bargaining agreements.
• Supervise foremen and other operational staff; align work with requirements and availability.
• Maintain knowledge of CBAs; interpret and enforce in daily operations.
• Investigate incidents; prepare reports and escalate to senior management.
• Plan workforce and equipment needs to execute plans safely and within budget.
• Monitor productivity; address gaps and ensure readiness of equipment and documents.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and PPE use; promote a non-discriminatory environment.
• Coordinate with vessel personnel, customers, and terminal staff; report timely.
