Job summary

For The People seeks a strategic COO to propel growth, strengthen operations, and ensure scalable infrastructure across states. You will partner with the CEO/CSO to align people, processes, and technology with mission-driven goals, balancing compliance and entrepreneurial agility.

The role emphasizes operational leadership, risk management, and a strong focus on California employment requirements, multi-state planning, and building accountable systems for impact.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of senior leadership experience in operations or finance.
• Experience scaling a multi-state nonprofit or mission-driven org.
• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate FTP’s vision into organizational plans, structures and resources.
• Lead planning and change as FTP expands across states and scales impact.
• Strengthen operating model, governance, and information flow.
• Anticipate risks and establish controls, policies and expertise.
• Oversee Director of Operations and Controller and cross-functional teams.
