Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in nonprofit management, operations, finance, strategy, program leadership, or related fields.
• Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and mission-driven leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement systems, processes, and operational improvements.
• Strong experience in budgeting, grant management, organizational planning, and financial stewardship.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
• Experience supervising staff and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic thought partner to the President and Leadership Team.
• Translate organizational goals and priorities into actionable plans.
• Lead implementation and monitoring of MUW's strategic plan and annual workplans.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen effectiveness, improve alignment, and support growth.
• Facilitate planning, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Create clarity, accountability, and alignment across teams and priorities.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and performance support for staff.
• Develop organizational systems, workflows, standard operating procedures and accountability structures.
• Escalate day-to-day operational issues and support staff in resolving challenges.
• Ensure staff have tools and systems to work effectively.
• Promote operational consistency while maintaining flexibility and innovation.
• Oversee administrative infrastructure and facilities management.
• Lead budgeting and support fundraising, grants, and initiative budgets.
• Monitor fundraising performance and budget-to-actual results.
• Develop systems to monitor financial resources responsibly.
• Collaborate with finance to ensure strong stewardship and processes.
• Support analysis for decision-making and long-term sustainability.
• Supervise grant-funded staff and promote grant compliance and reporting.
• Monitor grant performance, budgets, and reporting requirements.
• Lead assessment and planning for new programs, partnerships, and initiatives.
• Coach staff in business planning, program development, budgeting, and sustainability.
• Support innovation aligned with MUW's mission.
• Oversee HR systems including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
