Job summary

Gen is seeking an Operational Audit Leader to build and run a risk-based operational audit function that provides independent assurance and business insights beyond SOX compliance. This role will drive enterprise risk coverage and position Internal Audit as a trusted advisor.

Based in Tempe, AZ (onsite 3 days per week), you will partner with business leaders on advisory engagements, lead end-to-end audits, and adopt AI tools to improve risk management and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of an internal or operational audit function.
• Experience partnering with business leaders for advisory engagements.
• Ability to identify operational, financial, compliance, IT, and strategic risks.
• Strong ability to deliver actionable insights and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to support advisory engagements (process improvement, system implementation, transformation).
• Identify and assess operational, financial, compliance, IT, and strategic risks.
• Develop and execute a risk-based operational audit plan aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Lead end-to-end operational audits (risk assessment, scoping, fieldwork, reporting) across functions.
• Deliver actionable insights and recommendations that improve performance and risk management.
• Build and maintain audit methodologies, tools, and templates for operational audits.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and adoption of audit recommendations.
• Lead/partner special projects – transformation; M&A etc.
• Adopt AI tools and other automation for Internal audit function, including SOX processes]
