Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital in Chicago's south suburbs is seeking a Director of Med/Surg-Telemetry to lead nursing services across medical/surgical and telemetry units. The role carries 24-hour accountability for nursing operations, partners with physicians and hospital leadership, and shapes clinical performance and patient care.

The position requires current RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and preferred CCRN or MS-Cert; BSN is required for new hires after 1/11/2021.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state registered nurse license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate on hire and maintained.
• Current CCRN or Medical-Surgical certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of supervisory/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for nursing services in medical/surgical/telemetry units.
• Supervises, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care delivery.
• Develops and implements departmental plans including performance improvement and compliance with regulations.
• Oversees staff, coordinates with physicians and administration, and responds to codes as needed.
• Ensures care for adolescent, adult, and older adult patients.
