Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Facility Manager (NFM) to lead safety-focused operations at the Materials and Fuels Complex. Responsibilities include directing licensed reactor operators, overseeing maintenance, and aligning with DOE guidance to advance nuclear energy research.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years in nuclear facility operations with leadership experience, and holds a Senior Reactor Operator license or Navy equivalent. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering, physics, or related field with 7+ years in nuclear facility ops or supervision.
• Senior Reactor Operator license or Navy equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DOE L clearance; U.S. citizenship needed.

Responsibilities

• Support new reactor demonstrations and ensure safe, compliant operation of the reactor.
• Maintain a strong nuclear safety culture across shifts and departments.
• Oversee licensed reactor operators and technical staff, including training and performance management.
• Manage budgets, staffing, and resources to meet safety and operational goals.
• Coordinate with engineering on plant modifications and long-term asset management.
