Job summary

Sadie Nash Leadership Project in Newark/NYC seeks a Director of Finance and Administration to lead financial strategy, budgeting, accounting, and HR/operations for a mission-driven nonprofit. The role partners with the Executive Director, board, and program teams to ensure sustainable, compliant operations and strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate brings 7–10 years in nonprofit finance, systems thinking, and cross-functional leadership, with a commitment to social justice and youth

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of progressive finance, accounting, and operations experience.
• Strong nonprofit accounting knowledge, including grants and audits.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections and board reporting.
• Supervisory or cross-functional leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead organizational leadership, strategy, and long-term financial planning with senior leadership.
• Own monthly close, financial statements, and compliance across systems.
• Oversee HR, operations, and administrative systems for a small nonprofit.
• Collaborate with board and external partners to advance SNLP’s mission.
