Job summary

Sadie Nash Leadership Project seeks a Director of Finance and Administration to lead financial strategy, budgeting, and reporting while overseeing HR, operations, and data systems for a growing nonprofit in NYC/Newark. The role partners with the Executive Director and Board to strengthen sustainability and organizational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate brings nonprofit finance expertise, systems thinking, cross-functional leadership, and a deep commitment to social justice and youth

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of progressive experience in nonprofit finance and operations.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including restricted revenue, grants, and audit preparation.
• Experience developing budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and board-level financial reports.
• Experience implementing and optimizing accounting, HR, payroll, and expense systems.
• Deep commitment to SNLP’s mission and social justice values.

Responsibilities

• Lead organizational leadership, strategy, and external partnerships.
• Oversee financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Manage accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance.
• Direct HR, operations, and administrative systems.
• Strengthen data infrastructure and technology for program evaluation.
• Establish first-year priorities for reporting and sustainability.
