Zusammenfassung

Hour Children in New York seeks a Senior Director of Finance and Operations to lead the financial health and operational effectiveness of the organization. The role reports to the Executive Director and oversees budgeting, accounting, audits, procurement, risk management, and administrative systems at the HC Main office.

The ideal candidate brings seven+ years of nonprofit finance/operations leadership, strong collaboration, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.

Qualifikationen

• Seven+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance, operations, or nonprofit management.
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and nonprofit grants.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supervising staff and managing external vendors or consultants.
• Familiarity with financial and/or property management systems (Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Yardi, Concur, etc.) and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with property operations, government funding requirements, and organizational compliance preferred.
• Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and the ability to apply these principles to organizational leadership and decision-making.

Aufgaben

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, accounting, and financial reporting.
• Monitor financial performance, identify risks and budget variances, and advise the Executive Director on financial decisions and resource allocation.
• Oversee grant and contract accounting, financial compliance, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate the annual audit and work with external auditors and the Board's Finance Committee.
• Maintain effective financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee day-to-day administrative and operational functions, ensuring systems and processes support organizational priorities.
• Review and improve policies, procedures, and workflows to strengthen efficiency, accountability, and compliance.
• Oversee vendor relationships, procurement, resource allocation, and administrative systems.
• Support organizational risk management and business continuity planning.
• Oversee the operations and compliance of the organization's residential and commercial properties, working with property managers and relevant staff.
• Monitor property-related costs, maintenance needs, vendor relationships, and insurance coverage.
• Work with relevant program staff to address property-related financial and administrative matters, including rent collection and arrears as needed.
• Supervise and support the finance and operations team, providing guidance, clarifying responsibilities, and promoting accountability.
• Work with the Executive Director and department leaders to address operational challenges and improve coordination across the organization.
• Support staff development and training, and implement organizational policies and procedures effectively.
• Communicate financial and operational information clearly to senior leadership and the Board as appropriate.
