Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City is seeking a Director of Finance & Administration to lead finance, accounting and reporting. The role oversees $8 million budget, payroll, grants administration, audits, and internal controls.

You will partner with program leaders to align financial processes with operations and ensure accurate financial statements. The DFA will supervise the Senior Staff Accountant, prepare budgets, manage grant invoicing, and support audits, while driving strategic

Competenze

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in non-profit finance and accounting
• Minimum of a BA; CPA and/or MBA preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; meticulous attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of GAAP as applied to nonprofit accounting; payroll
• Experience with Sage Intacct, bill.com, Tallie, and Excel

Mansioni

• Oversee GAAP-compliant finance operations and reporting
• Manage general ledger and monthly close; oversee record retention
• Prepare financial data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Coordinate with auditors for annual financial statements and tax documentation
• Maintain depreciation schedule and monitor assets/liabilities
• Support grant and contract invoicing/billing; track budgets vs actuals
• Ensure internal controls and safeguard revenue and budgets
• Collaborate with CFO and program leaders to align finance with operations
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Lead staff training and strengthen internal communications
