PHILLIPS Programs in Annandale, VA is seeking a Controller to lead our accounting function and ensure accurate financial reporting for a nonprofit organization.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will oversee month-end close, budgeting, audits, payroll, and regulatory compliance, while guiding staff and strengthening internal controls.

The ideal candidate has a CPA or equivalent, 7+ years of experience, and a proven track record in nonprofit fund accounting and multi-entity environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and oversee month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, schedules, and management reports in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit requirements.
• Maintain internal accounting controls, financial systems, and reporting processes.
• Coordinate preparation of annual operating and capital budgets with the Director of Finance and department leaders.
• Oversee payroll administration and related controls in partnership with Human Resources.
• Support audits and regulatory filings, including Form 990.
