Job summary

Calibre CPA Group, PLLC is seeking a seasoned Nonprofit Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, treasury, and regulatory compliance for nonprofit clients. This role ensures accurate, timely financial information and strengthens processes to drive organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities include leading month-end close, GAAP and fund accounting, audit coordination, IRS Form 990 filings, and collaboration with executives and program teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA certification is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience in a leadership role.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and IRS Form 990 reporting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and payroll accounting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with accurate GAAP reporting.
• Prepare financial statements and oversee revenue recognition and restricted funds.
• Lead external audits, tax filings, and IRS Form 990 coordination.
• Drive internal controls, policies, and system improvements across finance.
