Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA license required.
• Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• GAAP knowledge for not-for-profit organizations including ASU 2016-14.
• Strong Excel and integrated accounting system skills.
• Experience leading external financial statement audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts; supervise journal entries and month/year-end close.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Administer fund accounting; manage endowment spending and donor restrictions.
• Reconcile Colleague student accounts receivable and related revenues; resolve variances.
• Coordinate annual Form 990, IPEDS Finance, state filings and regulatory reports.
• Lead external audit process and prepare schedules and workpapers.
• Develop internal controls and policies; monitor cash position and liquidity.
• Collaborate with Advancement on gifts, pledges, and restricted funds.
