Job summary

CFS in Providence, RI seeks a senior nonprofit Controller to lead all accounting operations, close processes, and reporting for a mission-driven organization. You will partner with leadership, drive GAAP compliance, audits, and Form 990, and mentor the finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA/CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger and month/year-end close.
• Prepare and present financial reports for leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and program-level financial planning.
• Oversee GAAP compliance and audits including Form 990.
• Manage, mentor, and develop finance staff while improving processes and controls.
