Job summary

Caritas of Austin seeks an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead all financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning in support of the organization’s mission. The CFO will oversee partnerships where Caritas serves as a fiscal agent and report to the CEO and Board.

You will manage a finance team, ensure regulatory and audit compliance, and contribute to long-term sustainability in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting in downtown Austin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field.
• CPA or CMA preferred; MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy, policy development, and long-term financial planning aligned with organizational goals.
• Assess performance against budget and multi-year plans; provide insights to CEO and Board.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and administrative processes.
• Provide financial forecasting, risk analysis, and scenario planning for decision-making.
• Develop finance team and foster accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and audit requirements.
• Demonstrate autonomy, judgment, and deadline-driven execution in a fast-paced environment.
