Job summary

LA Care Health Plan is seeking a Director, Network Contract and Strategy in Los Angeles, CA. You will lead contracting strategy for medical groups, hospitals, and health systems, translating market dynamics into executable contracts and navigable negotiation outcomes.

You will own the end-to-end contracting process, mentor staff, and partner with cross-functional teams to optimize reimbursement, quality, and access while ensuring regulatory alignment and strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in managed care, healthcare contracting, or provider network management.
• Experience with complex provider contracting and negotiations.
• Proven ability to develop and execute network strategies balancing access, quality, cost, and regulatory needs.
• Experience leading staff and cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience negotiating with hospitals, IPAs, and health systems.

Responsibilities

• Shape and execute contracting strategies across medical groups, hospitals, and health systems.
• Develop negotiation strategies and recommend positions for contracts, renewals, amendments and changes.
• Assess network needs, market dynamics, quality, and financial implications for contracts.
• Lead contract development, language, exhibits, and financial provisions.
• Monitor timelines and ensure timely execution of contracts and amendments.
• Mentor and grow a high-performance contract management team.
• Represent the health plan in provider meetings and strategic partnerships.
