Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Principal Engineer to unite customer needs, market opportunities, and advanced technologies for networking and communications in critical infrastructure. You will bridge customers, Marketing, Product Management, Sales & Customer Service, Engineering Services, and R&D to transform ideas into differentiated products that create value and growth.

Focus areas include setting roadmaps, building business cases, and mentoring engineers while traveling

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or an applicable discipline.
• 15+ years working knowledge and experience of electric power systems or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the discovery, development, and advancement of innovative ideas and growth initiatives.
• Translate market opportunities into product requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Influence product strategy, roadmaps, and value propositions.
• Educate internal and external audiences on SEL capabilities and emerging technologies.
• Mentor engineers and represent SEL in industry forums and standards groups.
