Job summary

KBR’s National Security Solutions team seeks a Conferencing Manager to support a government client in the Northern Virginia area. You will oversee planning, budgeting, and execution of conferences, training sessions, and meetings, coordinating with stakeholders, vendors, and security to meet event objectives.

Requirements include TS/SCI with polygraph, 5 years in event planning or conference management, knowledge of KPIs and conferencing software, and strong written and oral communication.

Qualifications

• Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with polygraph
• Five (5) years of proven work experience as an Event Planner or Conference Manager.
• Knowledge of KPIs and conferencing software for event management.
• Personnel management experience with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret, capture, and manage customer requirements and expectations.
• Four (4) year degree in marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to the conferencing team for planning, organizing and executing events such as conferences, training and meetings.
• Fully coordinate and collaborate on all tasks, activities, requirements and issues as they pertain to the support of the Customer’s conferencing and training events.
• Develop conferencing event plans and schedules, and define and document the implementation of requirements
• Manage customer expectations with proactive, consistent and transparent communication.
• Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including catering, venue selection, logistics, AV requirements, and scheduling.
• Work closely with event point of contact, stakeholders, food service, logistics, security, and vendors to ensure the event objectives are met.
• Develop the event budget in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring all expenses are accounted for, and provide to appropriate government POCs for approval. Manage approved budget throughout the event.
• Conduct post event evaluations with POC, attendees and event support teams to assess the event’s success and identify areas for improvement.
