Job summary

NJLM seeks a Chief Financial Officer for Manasquan Borough. The candidate should hold a New Jersey CMFO certification and bring at least five years of municipal finance experience. This is a working CFO role with oversight of budgets and financial operations.

Responsibilities include budget prep, debt service planning, accounting, payroll, audits, and coordination with the Tax Collector. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• CMFO certification required in New Jersey.
• Minimum five years of municipal finance experience.
• Hands-on, proactive, accountable financial professional.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word; strong oversight capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee debt service planning and administration.
• Handle bond ordinances and capital financing.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll and pension reporting.
• Perform bank reconciliations and GL maintenance.
• Prepare journals, interfund transactions, grant accounting and cash management.
• Oversee Water/Sewer billing, collections and revenue reporting.
• Coordinate with Tax Collector and supervise staff of two.
• Deliver timely statutory financial reports (AFS, ADS, audits).
