Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead indirect procurement and multimodal transportation sourcing in Charlotte, NC. You will manage vendor sourcing, quotations, rate cards, and supplier relationships, ensuring visibility and final approval for the customer.

This role focuses on driving cost reductions, shaping procurement strategy, and collaborating with procurement, operations, finance, and global stakeholders in a highly integrated logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in indirect procurement and multimodal transportation sourcing across drayage, ocean, cross-border, LCL, air, and 4PL operations.
• Ability to manage vendor sourcing, quotations, rate cards, procurement proposals, and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement of indirect goods and services supporting customer and business operations.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with transportation suppliers across drayage, ocean, cross-border, LCL, air, and 4PL environments.
• Manage the annual drayage and first-mile tender, maintain rate cards, and provide ongoing quotations to the operations team.
• Develop pricing proposals and procurement recommendations for customer review and final approval.
• Review freight audit and payment escalations, validate disputed rates, and determine the appropriate resolution with internal teams and suppliers.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities, support customer projects, and participate in regular procurement check-ins with the customer.
• Monitor vendor performance, contractual compliance, supplier governance, and alignment with internal procurement policies.
