Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company, a PACCAR division, is seeking a proactive MRO Buyer to manage procurement of maintenance, repair, and operational products and services for the Kenworth Division. You will drive supplier negotiations, oversee purchase orders, and coordinate cross‑functional sourcing strategies to minimize total cost.

The role emphasizes strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with responsibilities spanning supplier relations, cost control, and monthly reporting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing, engineering, operations, or related business experience.
• Experience with Production or MRO purchasing, manufacturing, and/or supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue purchase orders for MRO products and services for Kenworth Division departments.
• Route and distribute POs for approval per authority matrices.
• Manage supplier relationships including price, quality, delivery, and service.
• Source suppliers, obtain quotations and bids, and purchase items per standards.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate activities across PACCAR locations.
• Develop, negotiate and implement cost-reduction strategies and improve supplier performance.
• Collaborate with Commodity Managers on MRO purchases and requirements.
• Maintain supplier database and coordinate communications.
• Issue change orders within approved limits.
• Coordinate MRO activities with admin, sales/marketing, engineering and others.
• Monitor product quality and quantity; report deficiencies and drive corrective actions.
• Assist Accounting with invoice discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/year-end reporting for MRO activities.
• Use BI tools to analyze MRO trends and present findings to management.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
