Job summary

Brethren in Christ U.S. is seeking an Interim Ministry Formation Coordinator to provide visionary leadership and strategic development for education, ministry development, and credentialing across the denomination.

Working with Leadership Council and CMD, you will design and implement credentialing systems, align curricula with theology and mission, and build partnerships while guiding regional expressions and coaches over a 2-year, 8–10 hour/week role.

Qualifications

• A credentialed minister within BIC U.S. aligned with its theology, values, and mission.
• CMD experience preferred or familiarity with governance structures and credentialing procedures.
• Experience in adult theological education, leadership development, and ministerial training.
• Visionary and systems thinker who translates vision into implementation (curriculum, programs, evaluation).
• Administrative skills in project management, collaboration, and organizational effectiveness.
• Passion for developing leaders and strengthening church denominationally and locally.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.
• Proficiency with LMS, MS 365, Outlook, and related learning technologies.

Responsibilities

• System Design and Strategy Implementation – create a clear credentialing roadmap from exploration to ordination across regions.
• Continuing Education Program Development – redesign DSP curriculum and coaching framework tied to pastoral competencies.
• Credentialing Leadership – update policies, forms, and standards for ministerial licensing and ordination.
• Ministerial Formation – design pathways, mentoring, and leadership development initiatives.
• Local Church Focus – develop systems to identify and cultivate ministers within congregations.
• Partnership Development – build academic and training partnerships and pursue external funding opportunities.
• Leadership and Collaboration – collaborate across regional conferences, bishops, CMD, and partners; report on progress.
