Job summary

Automated Production, L.L.C. is hiring a Purchasing Manager for our Broussard, LA location. This is a relationship-driven role focused on securing the best prices for metals and fabrication materials while ensuring timely delivery to production.

You will source raw materials, negotiate terms, consolidate orders for volume discounts, issue and track POs, and coordinate with shop leaders to align material flow with schedules.

Qualifications

• Proven experience buying metals, raw materials, or industrial supplies.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure the best prices and terms.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to work with shop floor leadership to keep material flow aligned with production.
• Proficient in using purchasing software and inventory tools.
• Positive, persistent problem-solver with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Source metals, plate, pipe, structural steel, and fabrication consumables from suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and payment terms to manage material costs.
• Consolidate orders across the shop to gain volume discounts.
• Issue and track POs, ensure approvals and documentation.
• Coordinate with Cutting, Machining, Fabrication and Assembly for timely material delivery.
• Utilize IT and inventory tools to keep buying clear and trackable.
