Job summary

SAMACO in Houston, Texas is seeking a results-driven Buyer to manage procurement for Carbon Steel, Aluminum and Stainless Steel. You will align with the Regional Procurement Manager to optimize inventory, lead times and supplier performance while ensuring adherence to enterprise procurement practices.

The role requires 3+ years in purchasing or supply chain planning, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong analytical and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of purchasing, supply chain planning, materials and/or commodity management.
• Data-driven with strong analytical, forecasting and replenishment capabilities.
• Ability to influence and drive change across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Align with Regional Procurement Manager on procurement strategies for Carbon Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel.
• Lead demand planning at the branch level for bundled standard items and daily procurement.
• Coordinate with sales on contractual business, pricing and lead-time.
• Deploy supply chain practices and drive inventory efficiency at the branch.
• Own inventory performance and maintain purchase orders with current delivery dates.
• Provide procurement guidance to the Sales team and track KPIs.
• Ensure local procurement aligns with enterprise-wide practices and processes.
• Review inventory replenishment to meet forecasts and targets.
• Develop and implement new procedures for safety and loss prevention.
