Job summary

The role focuses on strategic execution, supplier development, and cross-functional support within a matrixed organization reporting to the Director of Maritime Procurement.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of relevant experience; graduate degree reduces requirement to 7+ years; without degree, 13+ years.
• 10-12+ years purchasing in an MRP/ERP driven manufacturing environment; SAP and CostPoint preferred.
• Proven negotiation experience.
• Contract experience, including terms and other agreement knowledge.
• Understanding and working knowledge of engineering documentation and product configuration.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a digital/remote environment.
• Solid knowledge of defense supply chain and FAR/DFARS knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Identify strategic suppliers and subcontractors and meet performance needs (cost/schedule/technical).
• Manage procurement processes and systems; align with government, corporate, division, and site policies and prime contracts.
• Identify and execute initiatives to improve performance based on best practices.
• Select, motivate, and lead a strong procurement team.
• Support strategic new business pursuits as a subject matter expert for purchased systems and services.
• Ensure risk management strategies are deployed on critical procurement efforts.
• Manage procurement metrics to meet company goals and supplier performance objectives.
