Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Specialist, Procurement (Material Estimator) in Anaheim, CA. The role focuses on accurately compiling complete costs of materials for proposals and supporting production and spares proposals with precise CBOMs.

Essential duties include analyzing drawings and specifications, leveraging quotes and historical data, and coordinating with Pricing for lead times. Requires U.S. citizenship and aerospace industry experience.

Qualifications

• US citizen required
• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience; graduate degree with 0-2 years of related experience allowed
• Aerospace/Defense industry experience
• Ability to create Excel Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs; handle large data sets
• Working knowledge of material pricing techniques
• Strong presentation skills and attention to detail
• ERP/MRP systems experience (Costpoint and SAP preferred)
• Knowledge of engineering documentation and product configuration

Responsibilities

• Generates a Consolidated Bill of Materials (CBOM) tailored to each proposal
• Utilizes supplier quotes, historical data, price lists, stock, and engineering estimates for item selection
• Analyzes drawings, parts lists, specs to determine estimating needs
• Compiles and approves material cost data and provides CBOM with lead times to Pricing
• Communicates with external and internal customers to meet deadlines and budget constraints
• Supports GATE reviews and audits
• Ensures estimations comply with regulations and company policies
• Maintains records of estimated vs. actual material usage for continuous improvement
