Job summary

Piping Technology & Products, a Houston-based manufacturer of engineered pipe supports, seeks a Buyer to source metals, MRO items, and related supplies. You will negotiate pricing, issue purchase orders, and manage supplier performance to meet delivery and quality standards.

Responsibilities include tracking orders, vendor onboarding, and coordinating with departments to ensure correct specifications. This full-time role requires strong Excel skills, detail orientation, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience purchasing metals, MRO items, and shop supplies in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Ability to read technical drawings and PVF knowledge is a plus.
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills with cost, quality, and delivery focus.
• Advanced Excel for formulas, data tracking, and purchasing records.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase metals, MRO items, and shop supplies.
• Solicit quotes, negotiate terms, issue PO, and track deliveries.
• Build vendor relationships and onboard new suppliers.
• Monitor material availability and communicate shortages to keep production supplied.
• Track shipments and resolve delivery issues with suppliers.
