Job summary

Mortenson in Utah seeks a Senior MEP Project Manager I to lead Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing projects on medium to large programs, ensuring quality, timeliness, and safety. You will mentor teams, coordinate with owners, and drive successful project delivery.

The role requires strong communication, risk management, and a minimum eight years of construction management experience in MEP settings. Travel up to 100% and a valid driver's license are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices
• Active listening and effective communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 100%
• Minimum eight years construction management experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
• Current driver's license

Responsibilities

• Manage overall project financial health, including projections, budgeting, and invoicing
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier selections, billings, and contract management
• Direct 3-D coordination and commissioning processes, ensuring conflict resolution and testing
• Lead project closeout activities, including manuals, model turnover, and training
• Supervise and develop Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s)
• Serve as main contact for owner, resolving site concerns and building relationships
• Manage change orders and obtain necessary approvals
• Ensure quality, risk, safety, and compliance throughout the project
