Job summary

Masonic Home in Union City, CA is seeking an experienced MDS RN Coordinator to oversee MDS/RAI completion, care planning, and ARD scheduling. You will collaborate with the IDT to maximize reimbursement within OBRA rules and ensure timely, accurate documentation.

The role requires CA RN licensure, MDS/RAI knowledge, and prior long-term care experience with supervisory responsibilities. A strong compliance mindset and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current CA RN license.
• 3+ years of clinical long-term care nursing with supervisory experience preferred.
• Prior RNAC experience required.
• Experience with MDS/RAI and PPS in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
• MDS/RAI certification preferred; must be certified within six months of hire.
• Experience with Medicare rules, regulations and requirements.
• Computer and typing proficiency.
• Experience with clinical assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead PPS meetings with therapy and unit coordinators to ensure goals are achieved and reimbursement days used are optimized.
• Set ARDs for the MDS process with IDT involvement to maximize OBRA-compliant reimbursement.
• Complete nursing sections of the MDS and Care Assessment Areas within required time frames.
• Consult with IDT for necessary clinical information and document accurately.
• Monitor and ensure timely MDS completion and regulatory compliance.
• Attend IDT meetings, care plan and discharge meetings as indicated.
• Provide staff education on Medicare PPS and MDS/RAI processes.
