Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer (Materials Engineering) to drive manufacturing and quality for rocket components and assemblies. You will own the new product introduction with suppliers and develop reliable ramp-to-rate processes.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 1+ years of production manufacturing/inspection experience; aerospace experience preferred. Collaboration across teams enables rapid takt times and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products in a production environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and inspection in production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical contact for rocket parts and assemblies, solving supplier manufacturing challenges and mitigating risk.
  • Own the new product introduction of new rocket assemblies, identifying suppliers and establishing ramp to rate.
  • Conduct design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure manufacturability at early stages.
